Mid-Century Modern Pink and Silver Valentine's Day Tablescape

Today I'm showcasing more of Jewell's china. This is a set I got for about $50 when it went half off at my favorite thrift store a few years ago. While the set I used for the girls' Galantine's Day table was so "Jewell" - delicate, lacy, and floral, this set is perfect for her, too. The color is a soft pink, and the simple platinum trim makes it so elegant. I have to check my mother-in-law's bags each time she leaves, because she loves this pattern, too!

I like the layered look, so I stacked the cup and saucer for pictures, then removed it to the side. I have at least a dozen of the Battenburg lace-edged napkins, so I used them on this table, too. The flatware is my "fancy" wedding pattern - "Ribbon Edge Frosted" by Gorham.

These sweet little cardboard stand-up Valentines are so sweet! They were half off at Hobby Lobby in January.

The china pattern is called "Sandlewood" by Franciscan. It is very indicative of mid-century china with the flat, open cup. It doesn't keep your tea or coffee hot, but it's so pretty! The chargers are probably some of the first ones I bought (Dollar Tree years ago). I have since bought newer ones from there, but they have a beaded edge which I thought was a little too "cute" for this formal setting.

Closeup of the cardboard Valentines and the pink and red scatter hearts I got at Dollar Tree a couple of years ago.

I was so pleased with these silk flowers from Amazon! This particular bunch is now on permanent display in my guest bedroom.

The crystal stems are "Stephanie" by Mikasa.

The pretty silver-plate candlesticks were wedding gifts. They play nicely with the dollar tree silver striped votives.

Everyone loves a pretty table!

OK - this is not posed! One of the girls was trying to take a picture, and I guess we took a play from their gamebook and did everything but pay attention! I just love this!

After a little flip-flopping, we got it done!

So pretty and sweet!

They had to get in the obligatory "football pose". These ladies and girls are such blessings to me. Each and every one!

I'm so glad you stopped by my neck of the woods!

  1. Lovely, lovely table, Missy! And lovely mamas and girls too! You're going to have to tell me where your favorite thrift store is. Your finds are fabulous!
