Pink and Green Toile Tablescape...Valentine's Day 2019

Valentine's Day is two weeks from today. What?! Can you believe we're already a month out from Christmas. I know the jokes about January having 136 days, and all that, but seriously, this year is flying by. I've already planned not one but TWO Valentine's tablescapes for this year, and I realized I hadn't even blogged about last year. Well, now's the time!

I started with my white tablecloth.

I had this fabric left over from curtains and throw pillows I made over ten years ago for my guest bedroom. It had been waiting, tucked away in my fabric stash, for just the right moment to reappear! Not only is it a beautiful pink and green toile, it has green stripes in the background. When I can get my guest bedroom (AKA the junk room) cleaned up, I'll show you just how pretty the curtains are.

Again you can see I went for the antique barn board. I love the rustic board juxtaposed with the feminine fabric.

Gold chargers came next.

"White Satin" by Nikko. Classic and always perfect. It's my everday pattern.

Cabbage salad plates by Bordallo. I picked these up several years ago at Tuesday Morning.

Here's what everything looks like so far...

Isn't this pretty? Toile fabrics were originally produced in Ireland in the mid-1700's and quickly spread to England and France. The scenes can reflect anything from this arts-loving couple (he's playing the flute and she's reading), to pastoral scenes, to children playing. Many wealthy people actually had their estates represented on fabrics.

From above... You can see the detail on the pretty napkins. I got these for a steal on eBay years ago. They are white-on-white and hand embroidered.

The stemware is "Heritage" in light pink by Fostoria.

I found these pedestal candle holders at Caffco several years ago. TIP - When the ball candles burn down, I place them in the freezer for about an hour and the candle will pop right out of the glass!

I have three of the candles, but this tablescape only needed two to balance the flowers in the middle.

I placed a little peat moss around the plant so you couldn't see that I had just dropped the plant in the pot without potting it.

This pretty hydrangea had touches of pink in the more mature blooms. I love that the blooms are different sizes.

See the pink? This went outside once the weather warmed up. I'd much rather invest in something that will last than cut flowers. Plus, I was able to get this at my little Tallassee Walmart.

I don't always place teacups and saucers on the table, but I needed a little more to fill up the space. I love the Springy look of this pretty table. It is definitely feminine, but the men don't mind as long as the food is good! Check back in a couple of weeks to see what this year's tables look like!

I'm so glad you stopped by my neck of the woods!
