Thanksgiving 2018...Fall Leaves Tablescape

Two posts in less than two weeks? What?! I'm trying to find a little time here and there to catch up on everything I haven't blogged since last year! I posted this year's Thanksgiving table last week. This is from Thanksgiving 2018.

I found these bags of fall-colored leaves at - you guessed it - Dollar Tree! Last year they had them in bags of about 50. I picked up several and used them all over my home for my fall decorating. I kept several handfulls and scattered them down my tables. They are "silk" (OK - maybe not!), but they were actually quite lovely. Some of them were even glittery.

This is the "men's table". They can see the TV from here. (If you can't beat 'em, join 'em!) Gerald bought this table and chairs set when he bought our first house in 1997. They'd seen better days since our kids had used them for everything from homework to making slime. I had repainted the chairs and table once. It was still structurally sound, but I was ready for something new, so I donated this set during the summer.

I love my amber glasses! They have made an appearance in several Thanksgiving tables. The pattern is "Jamestown" by Fostoria.

My gold chargers and gold-accented flatware are also a fall favorite of mine. The chargers came from Dollar Tree a while back, but they have them again this year. The flatware came from Target right after we married. It's "Abigail" by Hampton Silversmiths. I handwash it just to keep it looking good. I only use it a few times a year, so it's not a big deal.

The ladies all sit in the dining room. I'm looking at this picture and all I see are the dining room chairs. They are beautiful and came with my table and china cabinet, but they were too large for my dining room. I kept my table and china cabinet, but ended up selling the chairs this past summer. I ended up getting some really pretty blue ones that I absolutely love.

These runners came from the Dillard's Clearance Center. I like the natural element they add. You can also see the gold votive holders I got several years ago at Dollar Tree. Y'all - they look like they cost a mint, and they're my absolute favorite. I use them all the time!

I had Jewell and my nieces find me as many "baby" pine cones as they could. Then I lightly sprayed them with a metallic gold paint. I didn't want them to be solid gold. Just a hint. Unfortunately, the camera didn't pick it up very well. (I'm using them this year in an arrangement on my coffee table!) The antique wooden board came from the barn across the road from us. When our neighbors moved in, they knew it didn't have much longer before it fell, so they began to harvest boards to use in the old house they were redoing. Chuck cut me several to use on my tables. I love that the wood was part of a barn that has stood across from us for more than 75 years.

That's a wrap on Thanksgiving 2018! I hope to get several more posts done this month and get caught back up. Keep checking back in!

I'm so glad you stopped by my neck of the woods!
